A fully custom 105ft/ 32m explorer vessel with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, M/Y GATTO was launched in 2018. Cantiere delle Marche built it to the specific brief of creating a true explorer yacht but with classic yachting lines that would last forever. Hence, the high and flared bow that was then beautifully faired to gain a classic look.
To be superfit for another very busy summer, this sturdy yet elegant superyacht featuring naval architecture and exterior design by Hydro Tec and modern-classical interior by Francesco Guida Design, has undergone a number of maintenance jobs at Palumbo SY Refit- Ancona mainly involving the application of antifouling on properly prepared surface, the replacement of zinc anodes and the ordinary upkeep of the engine room, with the single exception of a cosmetic job involving adding the ship’s name on the stabilizer fins.
Confident that she’ll be performing at her best, we look forward to looking after her again in the near future.

Commissioned by the owner of a 54.2m yacht who wanted more space for family fun, the 70-metre motor yacht Talisman C was built by Turquoise Yachts in 2011 when the yard was still operating under the Proteksan Turquoise brand name.
Long-time design partner of the yard, H2 Yacht Design created both the striking exterior lines of the superyacht and Talisman C’s luxurious interior.
Being the second yacht built for this owner, H2 Yacht Design incorporated many new features including tender garages, a large transom folding platform, as well as a substantial extra space on the sundeck to add to the already sizeable deck areas.
Her just as roomy and exquisitely appointed interior layout accommodates the master suite forward on the main deck with 180-degree views, split-level bathroom, walk-in wardrobe and even a private library that doubles as a wellness centre. On the same deck there is a VIP double cabin and two further doubles, whereas two additional twin cabins on the lower deck make her well suited for up to 12 guests looked after by 19 crew members.
Relying for the first time on Palumbo SY Refit, Talisman C arrived at the Malta shipyard on 3rd May for her 10-year survey. The major works conducted included: ordinary underwater repairs, survey of the propellers, shafts and rudders (which were all taken out for inspection), removal of stabilizers to allow servicing, top side paint repairs to a number of places, and also pipe works to the fresh water system. Expected to leave on 20th June, both Captain & crew expressed their positive feedback and they’ll definitely be calling on the shipyard expert support in future.
L’Albatros, a 43.59 m / 143′1″ luxury motor yacht built by Nishii Zosen – Sterling in 1985, is back in Naples.
A regular customer at Palumbo SY Refit-Naples, this time round our skilled team has been concentrating on the repair of her GRP hull and superstructure carrying out the following main tasks: sanding all external surfaces of the superstructures including doors and hatches, repairing fiberglass surface damaged in about 200 spots, applying a complete paint cycle with Awlgrip Awlcraft 2000 snow white under the supervision of a paint specialist, making 50 steps in ‘Rigatino’ teak for the whole boat and replacing them to the existing ones, repairing damages caused by osmosis to the fiberglass hull and, finally, careening. The latter, is a key operation that protects the hull against osmosis as so to ensure the long lasting success of all the repair work carried out. Besides, a smooth hull enhances performance by increasing boat speed and reducing fuel consumption…which is what all boat owners love!

Powered by 2 CAT engines capable of pushing her to a maximum speed of 18 knots and a cruising speed of 16 knots, at OKTO’s helm are the experienced Captains Aydan Longmore and David Pott. The latter has kindly agreed to answer our follow-up interview before leaving the Savona shipyard at the end of our refit operation.
Q.: Why did you choose Palumbo SY Refit Savona?
A.: We have been working with Palumbo for some time now since they took over ISA yachts.
Certainly, the added benefit of Palumbo Superyachts taking over the build yard for OKTO enables us to have various on-board works carried out with the specialist knowledge of who originally did the job. This knowledge proved essential in several circumstances, making the refit service economically viable and allowing for the work to be completed within our tight maintenance window.
Q.: Are you happy with our team and the services provided at Palumbo SY Refit Savona?
A.: The main work carried out on board involved a major service to shore power converter, planned maintenance and hydraulic hose fitting in engine room with additional trouble shooting, deck caulking, fabrication of some stainless steel parts, interior finishing in high gloss black and LED lighting.
The Palumbo SY Refit team reacted quickly to set up the whole refit program and provided assistance with obtaining spare parts in time so to keep up with our set schedule.
The various works went very well and the benefits of having them completed by the build yard are clear to see. Everyone involved proved to be energetic and enthusiastic and met all of our demands in a very professional manner.
Q.: Would you recommend Palumbo SY Refit Savona?
A.: Most certainly. Our experience was very positive and in a very short space of time we achieved a great deal. I would certainly recommend Palumbo Superyachts especially to any ISA built yacht that may wish to make some upgrades or modifications on board. With the expertise and knowledge at hand, Palumbo will certainly be able to offer solutions that fit in with the build fabric of the yacht.
Elegance, harmony and style are three adjectives that are associated with the legendary Riva 63 Vertigo by the boatbuilder that became so indelibly associated with the high life during the heady 1950’s and 1960’s.
When this model was first launched in 2007, it took up the challenge of reinterpreting the concept of “open” making a name for itself as a high-performance yacht with a high technology content, offering space optimization and maximum comfort through numerous innovative solutions.
Delivered in 2008, ‘Pleasure Island’ is the Riva 63 Vertigo which was put in the capable hands of Palumbo SY Naples for some expert maintenance jobs.
Her interior provides maximum space and luxury: wenge wood and light oak give a touch of modernity without foregoing the classic elegance inherent to Riva yachts.
Below deck she can accommodate 6 guests in 3 cabins, comprised of two doubles with bathroom and a twin.
Powered by two V12 MAN engines, this speedy yacht can reach up to 40 knots.
While the overall quality of her finish was originally good, ‘Pleasure Island’ has required the yard team to carry out a complete maintenance service to her fiberglass hull, in addition to repainting the convertible hard-top for the cockpit and completely replacing the decking with slats in extra-striped Burma Teak. The latter being a particularly noteworthy job as it entailed stripping all the existing teak slats, cleaning and preparing the substrate, templating (making an accurate pattern for the replacement slats), manufacturing each single slat at the shipyard woodworking shop and finally assembling them on deck and sanding the new decking off.
Now that the whole job is complete, this perfectly sized boat for exploring the Italian Riviera in great style with friends and family is once again ready to take in our charming costal towns and sunny beaches.
