‘Much has changed in Ancona since the wet grey spring morning of the launch of M/Y Okto in 2014. But what has not changed is the commitment and enthusiasm of all the personnel involved in the OKTO project in sustaining the vessel through its operational life. This has enabled personal relationships to be established between the onboard team and the shipyard which have proven to be key in maintaining the high standards of the vessel and reducing workload of the engineering team.
Now as part of the Palumbo Superyachts, the After Sales Department in particular has been used on many occasions to not only provide an interface with Original Equipment Manufacturers & Suppliers, but also as a source of technical expertise to manage and help resolve various issues onboard. They are in fact my lead agency in this respect. I look forward to continuing to build and strengthen this relationship.
Over the last ten years, I have been involved in the build of two boats in the shipyard. My wife and I immensely enjoyed our time in Ancona and we shall return one day… we only hope to find the restaurant Vecchia Pesca open again.’
