Palumbo Superyachts Marseille has been awarded the tender called by the GPMM in February 2019, to renew the state concession for a further 21 years to the entire French shipyard on Boulevard des bassins de Radoub Formes 3 & 6 in the petit forms sector, first granted to Palumbo shipyards in 2014.
Following the renewal of the concession, which will actually come into force on 1/7/2020, PSY Refit has approved significant investments to face new challenges, always ensuring maximal professionalism and quality of service. As a consequence of such commitment, a new 48 x 18 metre floating dry dock capable of lifting boats up to 500 tons has been assigned to the shipyard to enhance its facilities and perform ground work inside the watershed.
“The improvement activities that we have been constantly carrying out since we settled on the French coast are giving us great satisfaction. The renewal of the concession allows us to plan a series of infrastructure investments that will bring an increase in the services offered in the short and long term.” Comments Giulio Maresca, General Manager PSY Refit Marseille.
With its 4 dry docks, a 95 m watershed, an over 300 m pier for jobs carried out afloat and a new floating dry dock, the multifunctional shipyard of Marseille has seen a constant turnover of superyachts undergoing any kind of work.
At the end of June 2020, the spotlights were cast primarily on the dry dock nr. 6, where numerous significant works, such as top coat finishing on a 90m-plus superyacht, were undertaken.
The particularly positive season with many interesting projects (it is of note the high rate of repetitive customers and the constant increase in new ones) led to the booking of all dry dock slots until Summer 2020.
The Marseille shipyard belongs to the Palumbo Superyachts network, which counts 4 other facilities in the Mediterranean (Ancona, Naples, Malta and Savona) and plays an international leadership role in the repair and refit industry for boats from 30 metres up.
