A 39m luxury sailing yacht, Cyrano de Bergerac was built in 1993 by Camper & Nicholsons to her Owner’s highest specifications to cruise the world oceans in the utmost comfort and efficiency. Her contemporary interior design work is by John Munford, whereas Vosper Thorneycroft acted as C&N’s sub-contractor for the aluminium work. From an engineering perspective, safety has always been paramount which is why most systems are duplicated and, despite their complexities, all the automated functions aboard have easy to operate manual overrides and a good degree of inbuilt redundancy.
Thanks to such a specification, Cyrano de Bergerac has always done exactly what she says on the label: working properly as a very practical, manageable cruising yacht with well-conceived sail handling systems.
To insure the efficient performance of each element of the innovative technical solutions characterizing this ketch-rigged sailing yacht, with in-mast furling carbon spars and remote sail control system, every maintenance work has always been carried out by expert hands.
This is why the Palumbo SY Savona shipyard has been selected for her current refit services. On this occasion, among the main jobs on the to-do list are: a new electric wiring in the owner cabin, a major kitchen renovation, an extraordinary maintenance of the engines and a complete insulation of the engine compartment.
Once all the works are finished, the yacht will be ready to sail around the world in total safety and comfort time and time again.
