L’Albatros, a 43.59 m / 143′1″ luxury motor yacht built by Nishii Zosen – Sterling in 1985, is back in Naples.
A regular customer at Palumbo SY Refit-Naples, this time round our skilled team has been concentrating on the repair of her GRP hull and superstructure carrying out the following main tasks: sanding all external surfaces of the superstructures including doors and hatches, repairing fiberglass surface damaged in about 200 spots, applying a complete paint cycle with Awlgrip Awlcraft 2000 snow white under the supervision of a paint specialist, making 50 steps in ‘Rigatino’ teak for the whole boat and replacing them to the existing ones, repairing damages caused by osmosis to the fiberglass hull and, finally, careening. The latter, is a key operation that protects the hull against osmosis as so to ensure the long lasting success of all the repair work carried out. Besides, a smooth hull enhances performance by increasing boat speed and reducing fuel consumption…which is what all boat owners love!
