Full of character and charm, luxury yacht ‘The Mercy Boys’ (ex. Shandor) is the world’s first expedition superyacht. A launchpad for adventure, The Mercy Boys was built in Germany by Schweers with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure and was delivered in 1986. Refitted in 2008 and again between 2014 and 2016, this 49.6-metre motor yacht is Lloyds classed and MCA compliant.
Designed by John Munford, her stylish interior is characterized by mahogany panelling and classic artworks. Outdoor she offers unparalleled deck and dining space with 3 dining locations, a disco/entertainment area and a swim platform with easy access to the water, so to board the tenders effortlessly or jump into the sea and enjoy the fabulous range of water toys.
To keep her in excellent condition, Palumbo SY Refit Savona has been entrusted with the maintenance jobs due at present. So far, the shipyard has performed: sandblasting and cleaning the underwater hull to remove any deposit and incrustation prior to applying a full cycle of International antifouling paint; servicing the windlass, the aft gangway and the sea chest valves to ensure their functional performance; cleaning grey-water, sewage and fuel tanks; applying caulk to the teak in the foredeck; replacing teak planks to the walkway on the main deck port side; carrying out various pipework tasks. By the time The Mercy Boys sets sail again, she’ll be in perfect conditions to guarantee fantastic cruises to her charter guests.
